When I come to NY for Fashion Week, I don’t go to the shows. Believe me, If I were invited to a Khaite show, or something, I would DEFINITELY go. But I’m not, and that is ok. I come for meetings with buyers from all over the world. We meet and show our Fall collection in person. We try it on a model, I explain all the pieces, the inspo, the references.. It’s the OTHER fashion week. I’m so excited to come and meet stores and hear their feedback, show off the collection, stay in a nice hotel and go out to dinner. It’s fun! I’ll share a little.
My Day 1 fit.
Yes. I loved this look. I felt rad all day and I felt like myself. All of these pieces I just launched as part of the Spring 25 collection. I am loving the two tone denim feeling. I am wearing the CREASE jean in the FLAT CREASE wash.. yes, I know, that’s confusing.. ha ha. These jeans looked sick. I linked them here.
And I wore heels. In the SNOW! ha. I was stepping over snow in the street and I thought… DON’T SLIP and I also thought I SHOULD TAKE A PHOTO. Ha ha. How silly is that. These are the Kitty Point in Yellow Snake. I like how Hillary Kerr wrote in her latest Substack that they are Bitchy Low Heels or fall into this category. Yes, EXACTLY. Bitchy low heels. I wore them ALL DAY.
I read something, on Substack likely, somewhere??.. how a recent collection, maybe it was a CK review.. was a reflection on office culture and likely aimed at a group of people who have never likely worked in an office. (If you read this, tell me who wrote it) It was genius. And it struck me. WOAH. I spent 20+ years working in offices, I guess that is a dated concept. The first 10 years were in corporate fashion, big retail, major office vibes, major big meeting vibes, major style out vibes… And there was that fashion office girl clacker culture (if you get my DWP reference) and I ONLY wore heels. I would say things (this was in my 20s) like THE POINTIER THE BETTER and I WOULD NEVER NOT WEAR A STILETTO and then after about 5 years of only wearing heels I got a swollen pinky toe for months and months that ruined my clacker cool vibe, and I couldn’t wear cute shoes, for months and months. There were no comfortable shoes back then.. not really. So that I made comfortable heels, and moreso comfortable shoes in general, it’s full circle. The heels are not what I wear everyday but I was so excited to wear them TODAY & there was a time when it was my everyday.. Where am I going with all of this.. I feel like that Bitchy Low Heel Vibe, it somehow connects me to my corporate retail late 20s, MY 20S MY YOUTH, and these heels do that too. I am channeling 28 in shoes that work for me at 46. I’ll take the Bitchy.. I’ve earned it. And I’m not, btw.. But if my shoes say so, that’s ok with me.
I wore the Essential Denim Shirt today, it looked REALLY GOOD, ha ha. We sold out of the shirt. IN ONE DAY! and we did a preorder.. but since have closed it.. We have a reorder in work and hope it happens quick. A lot of our lovely retail partners will have this shirt very very soon too, so it’s not too late, be on the lookout!
These are also my friend Jessica Winzelberg’s earrings. I only wear them, or mostly. I LOVE ALL OF HER EARRINGS. They are such beauties and I know she puts so much thought and love into her stone selection. Here are the links to these earrings.
AND SOMETHING SO COOL IS HAPPENING AND I JUST CAN’T REALLY TALK ABOUT IT YET BUT ONE DAY SOON I WILL TELL EVERYONE. So I feel like I’m holding in a secret and about to burst.. But all in time. All in time.
xx - If I look cute, I’ll show you DAY TWO tomorrow.
Love the BTS intel! and will patiently wait for the denim shirt restock.................
I love how easy everything feels. The opposite of most fashion week outfits in the best way.
